About Juliane

Formal education, practical experience

Juliane Glahn is trained in all major fields of journalism and news production. She has a formal education and experience in journalistic writing, interviewing, audio recording and editing, video recording and editing, and data journalism. She has years of practical experience putting her education to use, working as a freelancer for local and foreign newspapers and online publications, a trainee at an international online editorial office, a translator for science-related journalism, and interning within the radio and TV industry.

Internationally orientated

Juliane has lived and studied aboard in countries like the Netherlands, Germany, the United States and Canada. Her bachelor and master studies in the Netherlands, as well as her year in Tennessee, and semester in South Carolina, have helped shaped her perception of journalism and the news. Living abroad has taught her how to understand and function in international workplaces and cultures, and how to adapt to different work-cultures as required. Visible in her journalistic storytelling is her ability to understand stories from multiple perspectives and convey different points of view to national and international audiences.
